Howdy, pilots!
As you know, the Unites States of America was growing and powerful nation during the 1930s.
Despite the crash of Wall Street in 1929, the country managed to regain its strength and economy in a few years after Franklin Roosevelt's election (1933).
However, the nation became dorment in the end of the decade and remained Neutral in the first years of World War II.
It was only after December 7th 1941, when Japan launched a massive attack at Pearl Harbor that the U.S finally entered the War.
From that day on, the sleeping giant awoke and pushed back the Axis Forces, both in the Pacific and in Europe.
Becoming one of the most powerful nations after the War, the U.S. began influencing many countries in the Western region of Europe.
However, the Soviet Union was also the major victor of the War, being the country that reached Berlin first and destroyed the Nazi war machine in May 1945.
Therefore, a great tension soon arose between these two nations, once Allies but now common enemies.
With the introduction of the atomic bomb, though, a new kind of War began, where none of the opposing sides used their weapons, but their influence, power and military to intimidate the other.
The so-called "Cold War" began, changing not only the face of warfare but the economy and politics of the World.
During this time, the United States Air Force was present in all battlefields, leading the nation to victory from 1941 all the way to the Korean War.
